The large number of plant species and the biodiversity of these landscapes have created many different and diversified habitats with large communities and vegetation units. Many types of habitats are presented in conditional areas by the factors of the relief they are in.
∼ FLORA ∼
… In the area of these Alps, there are approximately 1650 plant types, which make more than half the number of plant types our country has. From these, around 85 types are endangered, over 16 types are considered as almost endemic. These types are: Wulfenia baldaccii, Petasites dörfleri, Lilium albanicum, Viola dukagjinica.
∼ FAUNA ∼
Large diversity of fauna: In this area, there are around 20 types of mammals, over 50 types of breeding poultry, approximately 10 types of reptiles, 8 types of amphibians, one kind of trout. Many of these are part of the list of endangered species in the world, Europe and Albania. The most endangered mammals are: Brown Bear, Wild Cat, Roe Deer, Lynx, Chamois, Badger, Beaver, Polecat.
